Hummus Spread

What You'll Need

  1. 1 garlic clove
  2. 2 lemons (or limes)
  3. 1 can chickpeas (garbanzos)
  4. 1 can black olives
  5. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  6. chopped vegetables (peppers & onions)
  7. capers
  8. cayenne pepper (until now, my secret ingredient)

What To Do

  • Mince the garlic or mash it with a garlic press

  • Measure and mix all the ingredients  in a bowl.

  • Squeeze the lemons in to the mix.

  • Mash with a fork to blend well. (For a smoother hummus, you can blend the ingredients in a blender.)

  • Season with salt and/or pepper.

  • Serve with chopped vegetables, pita bread, or crackers.

  • It's also yummy as a sandwich spread.
